Discover how we helped the College enhance their online degree programs. We jointly redesigned 24 hybrid courses and fostered autonomous learning by improving key aspects of instructional and multimedia design.
Cover for the case study titled: 'College of Education – University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)'. The design has a clean white background with subtle gray accents. The image consists of eight course cards arranged in a grid. Each card features a red banner with the course title and a circular image related to the subject. Some images depict students learning in classrooms, while others use illustrations to represent educational concepts.

NovEduca’s intervention fostered autonomous learning by improving key aspects of instructional and multimedia design, including:

  • Overall organization of each course, content prioritization, learner interaction design and visual optimization.
  • Quantity, type, and functionality of learning resources including activities, knowledge checks, assessments, and instructor feedback.
  • Compliance with ADA Standards for accessible design.
Section from a course page for 'Multicultural Education' (CME 705). The top section features a red banner with the course title and a circular image of a mural depicting a Black woman wearing a Kente cloth wrap and gold hoop earrings. Below the banner, a detailed image description explains the elements of the mural, including the background dancers and symbolic patterns. The artist, Erin Robinson, is credited in bold text. At the bottom, a large red button labeled 'Zoom link' is prominently displayed, indicating access to a virtual session. The layout maintains a structured and professional look, with a clear visual hierarchy.

What We Did

Redesigned 24 hybrid credit courses for consistent visual identity, engagement, and accessibility.

Discussion page from an online learning platform for a UNLV course designed by NovEduca. Students are instructed to create a self-portrait using words and/or images. The task requires them to identify at least five visible identity markers and two invisible identity markers, describe their significance, and reflect on how these markers influence their interactions with the world.

How We Did It

Collaborated with 34 faculty members, department chairs, and the Office of Online Education. We analyzed objectives, helped define learning outcomes, and systematically organized SME content into a cohesive structure. New visual designs and templates for future replication were created for program consistency, and seamless navigation was prioritized.

Slide for a PowerPoint presentation titled "Elementary Social Studies". The slide has a red and white color scheme and prominently features the title in bold white text over a red background. Below the title, "Module 2" is written in black, followed by an overview in red text: "Ignite Your Teaching Journey: The Power of Planning and Organization with a focus on Semester 1." On the right side of the slide, there is a circular image of a teacher addressing a classroom of young students, who appear engaged and attentive. The teacher is seen from behind, gesturing as they speak.

What We Accomplished

Achieved consistency across departments, improved engagement and self-directed learning, and ensured accessibility. Faculty adopted the redesigned materials with enthusiasm, and students found the courses more appealing and engaging. Delivered undergraduate and master level 45-hour courses transferable across online and blended modalities on UNLV’s Canvas.
